Madison County

The Madison County Board of Supervisors approved the FY 2026 funded Madison County Road Plan, which lists specific road projects and their allocated funding. The Board recognized the Madison County Business League and Foundation's infrastructure priorities. Additionally, the Board approved a Storm Water Proposal from Allen Engineering and Science, Inc., the preliminary Plat for East Bay of Caroline, a resolution for a regional partnership regarding improvements to the West County Line Transportation Corridor, the Scope of Work for the FY 2026 United States Department of Transportation Build Grant application, and an amended Cooperation Agreement between Madison County and the Town of Flora for paving Pocahontas Road.

The Madison County Board of Supervisors approved a request from the City of Canton to use E-911 funds to modernize their tornado warning system. They were advised that phase 1 of the broadband project has been completed. The Board approved the appointment of Percy Brooks to the Madison County Economic Development Authority Board. Additionally, they approved the use of E-911 funds for a complete replacement of the public address system in all Ridgeland Fire Department stations, and supplemental agreements with Waggoner Engineering, Inc. for right-of-way acquisition for widening Yandell Rd. The Board also approved a plat amendment for Cedar Point Subdivision.

The Madison County Board of Supervisors received a quarterly update on capacity improvement projects, including Calhoun Station Parkway, Stribling Road, Weisenberger Road, and Yandell Road. Hemphill Construction was the lowest bidder for the Wheatley Street reconstruction. The board appointed members to the Lost Rabbit URD Board, approved a contract to Hemphill Construction Company, Inc. for the Calhoun Station Reconstruction Project, and approved the final plats for White Oak Farms, Phase 1, and Millbridge 1 A of Caroline. They acknowledged an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with the City of Canton for tax assessment and collection, a request from the Circuit Court for Opioid Settlement Funds, and authorized readvertising for renovations to the boardroom's technological capabilities.

The Madison County Board of Supervisors approved a lease agreement with WellSpring Church as a voting precinct, with no precinct changes before the November special election. They granted WellSpring Church a tax exemption for two lots starting in 2026, approved the final plat for Charlton Place, Part 4, and a plat amendment for Cedar Point Subdivision. Additionally, they appointed Alicia Louisville as a Receiving Clerk and approved a pay increase for law enforcement.

The Board adopted a resolution proclaiming September 17-23 as 'Constitution Week'. Mallory Ladner was appointed to the Madison County Library Board, and Steven Summers was appointed to the Megasite Fire Board. April Love, Robert Jackson, and Chief Andrew Hughes were reappointed to the Central Madison County Fire District. Spring Creek Road was added to the unfunded road plan.
