The Board of Education heard a presentation from Head Start, providing insights into their program. There was also a presentation from elementary art teachers to celebrate Youth Art Month. The Board discussed strategic planning facilities update, approved treasurer's report, accounts payable, gifts to schools, Parents as Teachers Assurances, PAT Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with multiple USDs, KASB Membership Renewal and Legal Assistance Fund Contract, David Cunningham (KASB) Lead Negotiator, disposal of outdate/non-functional technology assets to recycle, annual Filewave renewal, annual Skyward Business renewal, SAC Fire Alarm Component Upgrade, out-of-State Student Activity Request, Morgan Elementary Outdoor Classroom project, United Way Grant -- HHS Child Care Center, and administrative salary adjustments. The board also approved several personnel changes for the district, including new hires, resignations, retirements, terminations, position changes and renewals.

The USD 308 Board of Education had a school-based meeting at Hutchinson Middle School - 8. The Board set a Governance Meeting Date for November 1, 2021, and approved the RSP Renewal of Professional Services Agreement 2021-22. The vote on Salthawk Community Services MOU 2021-22 and Rise Up Reno MOU 2021-22 were tabled. The Board approved Accounts Payable for September 2021, Grant Requests, Gifts to Schools, and the Test to Stay Grant application. Additionally, the board addressed personnel changes, including new hires, resignations, and position changes.

The Board of Education approved new COVID-19 Protocol guidelines for the 2021-2022 school year, requiring masks indoors for all students, staff, and visitors, regardless of vaccination status. The board discussed committee work for the 21-22 school year, approved several handbooks, including the HHS Day Care Handbook and the Virtual School Handbook, and reviewed and approved accounts payable for July. Additionally, the board approved gifts to schools, various program agreements for child nutrition and wellness, and personnel changes within the district, including new hires, resignations, and position changes.

The Board of Education heard presentations from three schools that recently launched their Redesign Projects. The Kansans Can School Redesign Project focuses on student empowerment and engagement based on individualized learning. The Board also heard a presentation from Business Teachers at HHS, Superintendent Update and Board Committee Reports. The Board discussed Board Meeting Live Streaming, disposition of Avenue A as a part of the continuing facilities strategic planning. The Board also discussed and approved Treasurer's Report, Gifts to Schools, Translation Services Agreement, JAG Partnership Agreement, Annual Follett Destiny Licensing Renewal, Family Liaison Support Specialist Position, Unified Bowling Activity, Sale of Resources, Food Services Equipment Purchase, Grant Request, Out-Of-State Student Activity Request and Personnel Report.

The USD 308 Board of Education meeting included a performance from the Hutchinson High School choir during the Program Highlight segment. A presentation on the Leader In Me curriculum was given. The Board approved several items, including the appointment of hearing officers for discipline, a settlement, an energy agreement and transportation affidavit, the treasurer's report, annual reports, bid awards for van purchases, grants, an Early Head Start MOU with United Way, interagency agreements, program agreements, renewal of ESSDACK Membership, and gifts to schools. Personnel changes were approved, including new hires, resignations, position changes, and retirements.
