Key discussions included the review and input gathering regarding Reclassification Criteria for the 2025-2026 school year, where the process and standards for reclassifying students from English Learner to proficient in English were explained. Additionally, the committee reviewed and provided feedback on written notifications, including Initial Identification (IFEP & EL), Annual Notification, and Reclassification letters. Information was also shared concerning the continuum of support and instructional strategies available for English Learners based on their proficiency level and academic requirements.
