The work session focused on the city's parking operations and infrastructure. Additionally, the Council addressed the aging inventory of parking meters, current software limitations, and a proposed transition plan to incorporate modern multi-space kiosks.
The work session focused on project updates regarding the conference center development, including the status of garage demolition, site logistics, utility discovery, and shoring operations. The council was also briefed on an unexpected discovery of a buried cable and the use of the Procore application for project tracking.
The council recognized the service of a late transit bus driver and honored the city's purchasing division during Purchasing Month. Public hearings were held regarding an amended PUD plan and preliminary subdivision plat for the Walnut Hills subdivision, which the council approved.
