This Transit Development Plan outlines a comprehensive program for the expansion and enhancement of public transportation services in central and northwestern Vermont over a 10-year period. The plan focuses on improving service span and frequency, expanding geographic coverage and coordination, and upgrading facilities and equipment. It aims to increase ridership, provide essential mobility, and offer convenient, affordable, and environmentally efficient transportation solutions through commuter routes, year-round local routes, seasonal services, and demand response options, while fostering strong regional coordination and sustainability.

The committee discussed the proposed safety values and re-evaluated them into three main categories: People-First, Collaboration, and Stewardship. They also reviewed a working draft of strategic priorities for GMT, along with associated key performance indicators, and examined how these priorities align with the organization's core values. Additionally, there was a brief public comment regarding a bus stop shelter.

The 2018 Chittenden County ECOS Plan is a comprehensive strategic document integrating the Regional Plan, Metropolitan Transportation Plan, and Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy. It aims to foster a healthy, inclusive, and prosperous community by addressing sustainable growth. Key strategies focus on strengthening economic systems, concentrating new development in planned growth areas, improving water quality and protecting natural habitats, increasing investment in working lands and local food systems, enhancing public health and personal safety, equipping residents with essential education and skills, developing efficient financing and governance systems, and ensuring equity and inclusivity across all initiatives.

This Public Transit Policy Plan serves as a guiding document for the continued growth and development of public transit in Vermont over the next ten years. It addresses critical themes and challenges including an aging population, land use and housing location, the expansion of microtransit and mobility-for-all services, the ongoing impacts of COVID-19, the transition to zero-emissions, and enhancing public awareness of transit services. The plan aims to preserve and enhance public transportation services by improving basic mobility for transit-dependent persons, expanding rural transit access, ensuring access to employment, mitigating congestion and greenhouse gas emissions, and advancing economic development objectives, while seeking sustainable funding solutions to address identified unmet needs.

The 2018 ECOS Plan, developed by the Chittenden County Regional Planning Commission, is an update integrating the Metropolitan Transportation Plan, Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy, and serving as the Regional Enhanced Energy Plan. Its overarching vision is to cultivate a healthy, inclusive, and prosperous community in Chittenden County by guiding sustainable growth, preserving quality of life, and addressing interconnected goals across natural systems, social community, built environment, and economic infrastructure. The plan includes strategic priorities related to reducing energy consumption, promoting renewable energy sources, fostering economic development, enhancing workforce skills, ensuring housing affordability, and establishing an integrated multi-modal transportation system, with a long-term outlook extending to 2050 for key objectives.
