Board meetings and strategic plans from Ivan Castellanos's organization
This Age-Friendly Community Action Plan for the City of Sacramento aims to improve the quality of life for older adults and foster an age-friendly community. Organized around AARP's Domains of Livability, the plan addresses key areas such as outdoor spaces and buildings, transportation, housing, respect, inclusion and social participation, work and civic engagement, communication and information, and community and health services. It outlines a three-year action plan with specific goals and actions to enable older Sacramentans to thrive and age in place.
The Director Hearing involved the review and decision-making process for several development projects. Key items included the approval of a residential addition and a project for incidental RV and boat storage at an Elks Lodge. A proposal for a cannabis production complex was continued to a future date. Additionally, the hearing addressed a project involving a new single-unit dwelling and detached accessory dwelling unit, as well as a tentative parcel map application, both of which were continued before ultimately receiving approval.
The meeting involved a review of the 6201 11th Avenue project, which included an environmental exemption for infill development, a tentative parcel map to subdivide a single parcel into three, a site plan and design review for the construction of three single-unit dwellings with requested deviations to lot dimensions, and a tree permit for the removal of one private protected tree. The project was subsequently approved.

The project was ultimately approved subject to specific conditions of approval and findings of fact.
The Director Hearing covered several development and zoning applications. Approvals were granted for the 11th and G Townhomes project, which includes a tentative parcel map and site design review, as well as a second-story addition to a residence on 40th Street. The hearing also approved a sign variance for the MOSAC building and a conditional use permit for a drive-through restaurant on Truxel Road. Additionally, a conditional use permit for a delivery-only cannabis dispensary was discussed and subsequently approved.
