The workshop primarily focused on budget recommendations for the remaining funds from Bond 2024. Board members, the Bond Advisory Committee, and Athletic personnel discussed a priority list for the remaining estimated $650,000 in funds. The Administration will present further information at the subsequent board meeting to facilitate action on these recommendations.

The document is the 2024-25 Texas Academic Performance Report for Calallen ISD, presenting detailed statistical data. It covers STAAR performance rates across grades and subjects, student progress, attendance and chronic absenteeism, annual and longitudinal dropout and graduation rates, and indicators for college, career, and military readiness. Additionally, it provides comprehensive student demographic data, staff information, and class size averages, offering an overview of the district's educational performance and operational statistics for the specified academic year.

The meeting included public comments regarding support for Layla Mata sitting on stage for the 2026 CHS graduation. Administration provided thanks to the Board of Trustees for their service. Informational reports covered the First Quarter Investment Report, Quarterly Donations Report, and the Finance and Projects Reports for Bond 2023 and Bond 2024. New business involved the approval of the CISD insurance renewal, the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Budget Amendment #3, and the subsequent approval of a one-year extension of the Superintendent's contract with a negotiated salary increase. An appointment was also approved, while action was postponed on the Play and Park Structures purchase for Calallen Middle School. The Board entered executive session to discuss personnel matters.

The primary discussion item during the New Business section was the appointment of Burl Smith as the next Chief of Police for the Calallen ISD Police Department, succeeding John Garcia. The meeting included a presentation of the GoodBuy Purchasing Cooperative rebate check and an Employee Appreciation Certificate. Approvals were made for the CISD Board of Trustees Scholarship for 2026, the Calallen Middle School Course Catalog for 2026-2027, out-of-state travel for Calallen Middle School Cheer, a Change Order for Calallen ISD Tennis Courts and Ag Barn Facilities, the BSN Sports and Adidas contract for athletic apparel and equipment, and the AEP Easement and Right of Way contract for the new Performing Arts Auditorium Project. Additionally, the ranking of Contractors for construction services on the Wood River Elementary HVAC Equipment Replacements and Upgrades 2026 Project and the proposal for Calallen High School VAVRTU-1 Replacement Equipment purchase were approved. Updates to LOCAL policies were also approved, along with revisions to CFB(LOCAL) and CH(LOCAL) policies.
