The City Council held a special session to conduct an executive session regarding real estate matters, specifically addressing the leasing, purchase, or sale of real estate by the public governmental body. Following the discussion in the executive session, the council reconvened in regular session before officially adjourning.

The board discussed a new softball contract agreement with the Vernon County Youth Recreational Softball League, which was referred to legal for further review. Additionally, the meeting included a verbal update from the Recreation Director and a review of the March financial reports for the board and the Frank E. Peters account.

The council discussed various city business matters including the issuance of a proclamation for Poppy Days 2026. Board and commission appointments were reviewed, specifically regarding the Library Board. Public participation involved discussions on airport resources, resident status for utility service connections, and the status of equipment purchases. The council deliberated on an ordinance for a water line extension, which was subsequently postponed. A new ordinance regarding a contract with Navigate Building Solutions was introduced, and a resolution authorizing a financial expenditure for the local Fireworks and Freedom Committee was approved. Additionally, the council received updates on city road projects, animal shelter improvements, and city finances, and reviewed training feedback for city officials.
