This document introduces the "Trusted Research Using Safeguards and Transparency (TRUST)" framework, a strategic initiative designed to safeguard the U.S. research ecosystem against undue foreign influence. The framework employs a decision tree approach across three branches: assessing active appointments and research support, identifying non-disclosure, and evaluating national security risks. It emphasizes fostering a culture of shared responsibility, protecting fairness, and maintaining open communication, with implementation beginning in fiscal year 2025 through a phased pilot program.

The strategic plan for Associated Students of the University of California, Santa Barbara, serves as a roadmap to address student body issues and guide the organization's future direction. It is structured around eight key focus areas: Student Advocacy & Education (covering Physical & Emotional Well-Being, Environment, Campus & IV, and Beyond Campus & Community), Philanthropy and Financial Support, Student Enterprise, Student Enrichment, and AS Internal Operations/Leadership. The plan aims to define achievable goals, ensure responsible resource allocation, align with the organization's mission and values, and establish accountability through progress measurement and reporting, particularly for long-term, collaborative initiatives.
