Public Education Funding Commission Report 2026-2029
This report from the Public Education Funding Commission outlines a comprehensive roadmap of recommendations to improve Delaware's public education funding system. Key recommendations include adopting a hybrid funding formula that blends current systems with a weighted needs-based approach for high-need students, ensuring no loss of funding during the transition, improving funding equalization, establishing ongoing oversight, and expanding public engagement. The commission also recommends local funding reform and the extension of its own work to continue refining the system. The goal is to create a more flexible, equitable, transparent, and responsive funding model, with a phased implementation planned from 2026 through Fiscal Year 2029.
