Coalinga-Huron Unified School District

This document outlines long-term goals for a school district, established by the Board of Education to guide its direction and address student achievement and needs. The agenda focuses on financial and administrative oversight, including a budget discussion, review of warrant articles, and the default budget. Additionally, the board will review the manifest, receive reports from the Superintendent and Building Administrator, and hear updates from various sub-committees including finance, technology, facilities, and policy.

The committee held its inaugural meeting to welcome members and cover administrative essentials. Discussions included a presentation on the roles and responsibilities of the Citizen's Oversight Committee as defined by the Education Code, a project list review, the election of a committee chairman, and a request for the distribution of bond project updates and governing handbooks.

The committee reviewed the Financial Report and Performance Audit for Measure R, confirming no audit findings. Discussions covered project timelines for upcoming work, the attainment of a CTE matching grant, and the status of electrical and alarm system upgrades. Additionally, the committee planned the presentation of the Annual Report, which will occur at upcoming Board meetings, and discussed the preparation of a PowerPoint presentation to support this report.

The committee meeting agenda includes the review of transactions in the general ledger and the audit report. Additionally, it covers the presentation of the annual report for the upcoming board meeting and provides an update on the bond issuance.
