The City Council meeting included a recognition of new police department employees and professional staff, as well as the completion of the Emergency Response Team program with certifications awarded to local community members and students. The commission addressed updates regarding the Smith Park Pool reopening, summer swim lessons, and the summer event schedule. The commission also continued working on its ongoing workplan, which includes developing innovative programs for various age groups, expanding sports programming, and planning community engagement initiatives like sustainable transportation events and resource fairs.

The City Council conducted a study session regarding the proposed operating budget and capital improvement program for the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
