City of Grosse Pointe Park
In compliance with the City of Grosse Pointe Park’s (GPP) Gutter and Downspout Disconnect Ordinance, GPP disconnected roof downspouts at the City Hall entrance, adjacent to the driveway leading from E. Jefferson Avenue. Stormwater that previously drained underground is now discharged to the city hall front entrance way and sidewalk, draining down to one of two major transportation corridors in the city. This front entrance to City Hall now experiences frequent flooding with runoff draining directly to East Jefferson Avenue. In addition, the resultant ice buildup in below freezing temperatures creates a significant safety hazard to pedestrians. Plans for the site will redirect and retain stormwater using a combination of gutter and downspouts, an underground drain, permeable pavers, filtering media and plantings. This project represents a first step toward an effort to mitigate runoff through green stormwater infrastructure.

Board meetings and strategic plans from City of Grosse Pointe Park
This Streetscape Plan provides a vision and actionable framework for enhancing the Charlevoix Street and Kercheval Avenue business districts in Grosse Pointe Park. It outlines goals to create comfortable and safe public infrastructure, foster community interactions through gathering spaces, establish unique district identities, and support local businesses. The plan details specific streetscape recommendations for both avenues, with implementation phases extending to at least 2026.
This executive summary presents an analysis of a survey conducted in the Trombly Elementary catchment area to inform strategic decisions for Grosse Pointe Public Schools. Key findings indicate confirmed population growth among 0-5 year olds, significant challenges in the district's capture rate attributed to perceived overcrowding, and high demand for GPPSS preschool offerings. The analysis proposes that a PreK-4 model at Trombly and Defer could expand preschool access, alleviate overcrowding, attract and retain students, and potentially achieve budget neutrality, thereby improving overall district enrollment and academic performance.
This document outlines the Amended Development Plan and Tax Increment Financing Plan for the Northwest Tax Increment Finance Authority, spanning a sixteen-year period from 2020. The plan aims to creatively and proactively contribute to the economic development and redevelopment of the TIFA District through the proper use of tax increment financing dollars. Key objectives include improving overall aesthetics, enhancing western entrances, encouraging renovation and establishment of private and public properties, increasing safety and security, improving facades and landscapes, addressing parking needs, and constructing a new Department of Public Works building. These improvements are designed to stimulate private investment and revitalize the District.
The meeting included a public hearing for the Department of Public Works (DPW) facility. Public comments were read, expressing concerns over the DPW building on Mack Avenue, including its impact on pedestrian experience, the demolition of a house for parking, and the construction of a wall along the border with Detroit. The Planning Commission also reviewed the site plan for the new DPW building, with discussions on its design, functionality, and compliance with the city's master plan.
The meeting included discussions on the Lakefront swim finals, decline in summer and seasonal staff, concrete work quotes, and Tompkins Community Center activities. Concerns were raised about noise levels from events near the Tompkins Center, particularly regarding loud and inappropriate music impacting private rentals. There was also a discussion about the use of the overflow parking lot at Windmill Point Park for DPW storage and potential solutions. The commission reviewed the After Six on Kercheval event, including vendor feedback, the relocation of the band stage, and planned activities for the upcoming finale.
