The Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) meeting included updates from TAC members on various climate-related initiatives, including efforts by the CDPH, CNRA, OES, and Sonoma Water. ICARP programmatic updates were provided, including updates on the California's 5th Climate Assessment and the Vulnerable Communities Platform. The meeting also covered the implementation of nature-based solutions in the Eastern Sierra.

The 2025 ICARP priorities, guided by the Technical Advisory Council, focus on cultivating trust and empowering communities by deepening partnerships with CA Native American Tribes, fostering relationships with grantees and vulnerable communities, and strengthening equitable grant processes. It aims to showcase the impact of climate adaptation investments through tailored outreach, highlight local success stories, and track progress with robust data. The plan also expands localized data, research, and tools to guide local governments and supports innovative adaptation and resilience actions, prioritizing investments in vulnerable communities and fostering diverse partnerships.

The document outlines priorities including strengthening protections for climate vulnerable communities, bolstering public health and safety against increasing climate risks, building a climate resilient economy, accelerating nature-based climate solutions, making decisions based on climate science, and fostering partnerships and collaborations to leverage resources.

The meeting included updates on the Integrated Climate Adaptation and Resiliency Program (ICARP), discussion and action on ICARP TAC Charter updates, and a grantee spotlight on the ICARP Extreme Heat and Community Resilience program. The council also discussed the Vulnerable Communities Definition Subcommittee, the Extreme Heat Action Plan, and the CalHeatScore tool. Additionally, there was a case study presented from Climate Resolve on extreme heat.
