Blair Oaks R-2 School District

The Blair Oaks R-II School District's strategic plan is built upon three priority areas: Effective Teaching and Learning, Collaborative Climate & Culture, and Student Health and Safety. It aims to improve student performance by increasing the percentage of students meeting state standards annually through enhanced instruction, curriculum alignment, and interventions. The plan also focuses on fostering a positive and welcoming school environment, monitored through annual culture needs assessments, and ensuring student well-being and safety through comprehensive programs including emergency preparedness, bully prevention, and mental health support.

The meeting included discussions and approvals regarding the District Assessment Plan, the District Professional Development Plan, and a quote from Legend Fitness for new BHS weight room equipment. The board also reviewed revisions to various board policies and regulations, covering topics such as school year and school day, public access to district documents, student records requests, discipline, athletic activities, substitute teacher employment, and emergency operations plans. Additionally, the board accepted the resignation of the BIS custodian.

The meeting included recognitions and presentations for October Character Students from various schools, as well as a presentation from the Boys Soccer team. The board set the student tuition rate, adopted policy and regulation revisions, reviewed a request for proposal draft for district audit services, reviewed the facilities master plan document, and approved a MOU with Nichols Career Center for the 2025-2026 school year.

The meeting included a curriculum process update, discussion and approval of postponing the tax rate hearing, the 2025-2026 Contractual Agreement for music therapy Special Education related services, the sale of surplus property, the Adoption of Code of Ethics for Missouri Ethics Commission, and Policy 2656-Student Cell Phone Usage. Additionally, the board went into an executive session and accepted the resignation of a food service cook, and extended employment offers to multiple individuals for various positions.

The meeting was called to order to discuss new business. The board approved setting the unadjusted/adjusted tax rate for the 2025-2026 school year. The meeting was then adjourned.
