Zambia: Metalex Cobalt and Copper Production Expansion

Description: The U.S. Trade and Development Agency is seeking qualified U.S. firms to conduct a feasibility study for expanding Metalex Africa Zambia Limited’s copper and cobalt mining and concentrating operations at the Kazozu mine in Zambia. The study includes exploration, resource assessment, metallurgical testing, plant and energy feasibility, logistics, economic and financing analysis, environmental and climate assessments, offtaker identification, and an implementation plan. This is a feasibility-study RFP funded through a grant to Metalex, rather than a grant application, and proposals are due August 21, 2026.
