Description: Work includes construction of a new 150 GPM package iron removal plant; demolition of an existing 150-gpm iron removal unit; demolition of some existing plant piping; construction of new piping; replacement of the chemical feed system; new instruments and valves as shown on the plans; building rehabilitation; a new emergency generator; backwash pond cleaning and expansion; demolition of one existing well and replacement of a pump in another existing well; and a new SCADA system including integration to two wells and an two existing elevated storage tanks.

Western Water Company Treatment Plant Expansion and Wellfield Improvements RFP
The proposed work is generally described as follows: expand the existing water treatment building to house an additional softening treatment train, which includes a horizontal pressure filter and a vertical ion exchange softener. Install a new brine tank to supply the ion exchange softener. Excavate and remove the existing underground brine backwash tanks and replace with a backwash lagoon. The wellfield improvements include a new booster pump station, and the development of one new well. Piping, electrical, lighting, instrumentation, and control upgrades, are also included in the project scope.
