Turlock Lake State Recreation Dock Replacement

Description: Stanislaus County Parks and Recreation (County Parks) is under contract with the State of California to operate and maintain the Turlock Lake State Recreation Area, located at 22600 Lake Road, La Grange, California 95329. In addition to its operation and maintenance responsibilities, County Parks has obtained a grant through the California Department of Parks and Recreation to rehabilitate and re-establish facilities and infrastructure at the recreation area. These efforts are intended to restore the park's facilities and infrastructure and support the eventual re-opening of Turlock Lake State Recreation Area for public use. The existing dock located at the most westerly side of the boat launch ramp (refer to Exhibit C) is dilapidated and must be replaced. The selected Contractor shall furnish, fabricate, deliver, and install a new commercial-grade floating dock system consisting of six (6) sections, each approximately 6 feet wide by 20 feet long, for an assembled dock configuration of approximately 6 feet by 120 feet. The work shall include the complete removal, haul-off, and disposal of the existing dock. The replacement dock is anticipated to include, at a minimum, the following components and materials: ·         2" x 6" x 1/4" aluminum box-tube main frame. ·         2" x 3" x 1/4" aluminum box-tube cross members. ·         1-1/2" x 3" x 1/8" aluminum box-tube stringers. ·         Piano hinges connecting dock sections. ·         12-inch-high encapsulated floats. ·         Double composite walers around the perimeter of the dock. ·         10-inch hot-dip galvanized (HDG) steel cleats. ·         Four (4) vertical boarding/handhold rails. ·         Two (2) HDPE-lined pile squares. ·         Four (4) legs with HDPE pads per dock section. ·         Composite wheel-stop edge boards along the dock surface. ·         Aluminum non-slip decking designed for stationary or floating, open-air boat docks. Decking shall be vented to allow for wave dissipation. ·         Anchoring to the existing piles and attachment to the existing concrete landing at shore. The listed components represent the anticipated materials and configuration for the replacement dock. The Contractor shall provide all additional components, hardware, fasteners, connectors, and incidental materials necessary to furnish and install a complete, functional, and properly secured floating dock system. The Contractor shall include all costs associated with required material submittals, bonds, and sales tax in accordance with the requirements of this RFQ. Contractor should also identify the applicable warranties for the proposed dock system and its components.
