The Contractor shall make NIH designated amounts of transit benefits available for each participant to download on his or her SmarTrip® card by the first (1st) calendar day of the month that the benefits are effective. The Contractor shall be able to enroll NIH for participation in the SmartBenefits® program, which is a Web-based system that will allow NIH to assign specific dollar values of participants’ monthly benefits for commuting to and from work directly to the participants’ SmarTrip® cards. Mass Transit commuting benefits will include the following systems: Metrorail, Metrobus, regional commuter systems operated by local counties (RideOn, TheBus, etc.), vanpools, and passes obtained through CommuterDirect.com (MARC, VRE, MTA Commuter Bus).
