This project entails the comprehensive modernization of the control and hydraulic power systems for the Stamford Hurricane Barrier. Under a single, integrated contract, the Contractor will replace the legacy, unsupported PLC system with a modern, secure industrial automation platform while executing two concurrent efforts. The first effort involves the systematic refurbishment of the HPU at each abutment. This work includes the containment and proper disposal of existing hydraulic fluids, followed by the replacement of wearable mechanical and electrical components, such as main and circulation motors, pumps, control valves, filters, and system sensors. Reusable structural components will be thoroughly cleaned, inspected, and certified prior to reinstallation.
