Replacing the existing woodshop dust collection system in entirety with a new system to serve all the woodshop equipment throughout the shop. The new dust collection system shall be fitted with Code required dust collection devices inclusive of fire suppression, spark detection, and explosion isolation devices. The dust collection system shall be a pulse type cartridge collector. Dust collection system shall utilize standalone controls; there is no desired interconnection to the existing facility building management system for the new dust collector. All the woodshop equipment shall be removed from the shop and relocated back in by the awarded contractor and connected to the associated utilities. The existing heating and ventilating systems serving the woodshop will be removed. New heating and ventilation strategies will be implemented into the shop. The existing general exhaust systems within the woodshop and supporting finishing spaces will be upgraded. The existing electrical system serving the woodshop equipment and the new dust collector system and equipment will be modified as part of the project. Existing electrical bus ducts are present in the woodshop will be replaced with new. The woodshop and all associated support spaces are to be fitted with new LED lights. The woodshop’s existing walls shall be cleaned and painted. Project shall include replacement of existing fire sprinkler heads as needed to provide appropriate coverage with the new dust collection system layouts. Existing plumbing systems present in the woodshop and support spaces are to remain in place. A new compressed air plant will be included in this project.
