Contractor shall coordinate well drilling with the on-site USGS Representative and assist in: Measuring daily water levels prior to start of each day’s drilling; Collection of drill cuttings every five feet (5-ft); Geophysical logging with a suite of logs including Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (provided & performed by USGS).

Groundwater Management Section within the Department of Environment and Climate Change has identified a need to seal abandoned water wells that pose a potential risk to the environment and public safety. The well sealing work must be carried out by a licensed well drilling contractor in accordance with The Groundwater and Water Well Act and applicable regulations. These wells, located on provincial government-owned sites, have been inspected and evaluated to ensure accessibility for equipment and service trucks. Sealing these abandoned wells is of utmost importance to protect the local aquifers, prevent potential groundwater contamination, and ensure the safety of the surrounding environment and communities. The successful completion of this project will contribute to the overall environmental stewardship goals of the Assiniboine Delta Aquifer in Manitoba. See more
