Summary
The requirements shall include the furnishing of small arms ammunition in accordance with the specifications listed. All ammunition furnished shall meet the minimum voluntary industry performance standards for the use of commercial manufacturers as stated by the american national standards institute (ansi) and sporting arms and ammunition manufacturer’s institute, inc. (saami) unless otherwise noted in specification. Minimum shell casing – unless otherwise specified, shell case for all items must be brass or higher quality. All cases shall be of virgin condition. No reloaded or used shell cases will be accepted. Headstamp – each loaded cartridge shall be head stamped with the manufacturer’s symbol and appropriate cartridge description. Propellant/primers – the contractor shall select the propellant and primer needed to achieve the minimum performance standards described in this specification. The propellant and primers shall be newly manufactured (within 12 months). All cartridges within one lot shall be loaded with the same lot of propellant and the same lot of primers. See attached file.
