Description: The primary purpose of the building is to house the boilers, chillers, and associated support equipment to produce steam and chilled water for the tenants at naval support activity (nsa) bethesda. The original portion of building was constructed in 1941, with additions added in the 1960s and 1970s. The majority of the building is a steel framed superstructure with a concrete basement level and concrete pier foundations. Structural work includes cleaning, repairing, and reinforcing framing and building masonry walls; adding moisture protection; and repairing the bridge crane.
