The Hawaii Department of the Attorney General (Crime Prevention and Justice Assistance Division) issued an RFI to solicit applications from eligible nonprofit organizations for Byrne SCIP funding to prevent and mitigate gun violence through community violence intervention strategies. Funding priorities include Behavioral Health Crisis Centers, Community Violence Intervention Programs, Extreme Risk Protection Orders (ERPO), and Hawaii’s Targeted Violence Prevention Strategy, with awards beginning July 1, 2026 and one- or two-year award terms. Eligible applicants are IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofits registered in SAM with a UEI and must meet insurance and fiscal reporting requirements.
