Description: DESIGN-BUILD: Design-Build of Retamal Dam Buoy System. Upon conclusion of the project, the new waterway barrier line will prevent public access to dangerous hydraulics upstream/downstream of the dam, the warning system and signage will alert the public of the danger ahead providing a waterway barrier line to include anchors, alert system, and warning signs at the Retamal Dam. The Construction includes, but is not limited to, site preparation, inspection of all systems and structures, disposal of debris and construction waste, quality control testing.

The project involves general construction work to repair and rehabilitate the 17-ft high by 225-ft long combination earthen dam at Fords Pond, including sequencing construction on the roller-compacted earthen dam and existing spillways, controlling water from the existing dam structure during construction, and reinforcing concrete and dam joints on the existing spillway, with an estimated cost range of $2,000,000 to $3,000,000 and 270 calendar days duration. Work includes dewatering of the existing pond, demolition of the dam and embankment will work from the top down mainlining the bypass flow through the principal outlet pipe as long as possible, a bypass pump will be set when the excavation gets to elevations requiring the existing pipe to be removed, it is anticipated that earth moving equipment will be used for the project including but not limited to excavators, loaders, and dump trucks.
