Remanufacturing the Miter Gate Actuators of Locks Four and Five

Description: The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Pittsburgh District (W072 ENDIST PITTSBURGH) issued a Justification and Approval notice (Notice ID W911WN26P1BT6) under 41 U.S.C. § 3304(a)(1) for the planned sole-source (brand-name, FAR 6.302-1(c)) award of a purchase order to Kerry Company, Inc. for the remanufacturing of both Miter Gate Actuators at Locks Four and Five on the Allegheny River. The scope of work includes the simultaneous remanufacture of both actuators to their new and improved design, encompassing complete disassembly, electrical testing/inspection, steam cleaning, bake-out, sandblasting, reassembly with two new bearings per unit, final electrical testing, painting to original factory specifications (Macropoxy 646 + Acrolon 218 HS), repair and re-chroming of thrust rods, replacement of bronze bushings, and furnishing/installing new seals, valve kits, food-grade hydraulic oil, hydraulic power components, and stainless-steel hardware. This notice is not a request for competitive quotes, but interested parties may submit a detailed capability statement (including company name, UEI, CAGE code, POC info, and capability narrative) no later than July 7, 2026, after which the Government will decide whether to compete the action; the notice remains Active on SAM.gov with a posted date of June 22, 2026 and an inactive date of June 22, 2027.
