Railway Condition Assessment Services

Description: The City of Barrie is seeking a qualified consultant with expertise in the railway industry to undertake a comprehensive condition assessment of the Barrie-Collingwood Railway (BCRY). The work covers approximately 23.5 kilometres of main-line track from Utopia Yard to the end of the line and includes inspection and evaluation of rail, ties, ballast, subgrade, bridges, culverts, crossings, and associated structures, with recommendations regarding condition, maintenance, rehabilitation, and long-term asset management. The bid is structured into four phases, with Phase 1 being the required base scope to be completed in fiscal 2026 and Phases 2-4 provisional at the City's sole discretion.
