Metro Vancouver Regional District

The purpose of the special meeting is to consider an update regarding the water supply.

The Board discussed and approved various items, including a contribution agreement for the Kanaka Creek Bell-Irving Hatchery, the acceptance of Regional Context Statements from the Cities of Surrey and Coquitlam, and endorsement of a joint statement on floodplain resilience in the Lower Mainland. Other actions included advocating for provincial responsibility regarding orphan dikes, receiving updates on the BC Retrofit Accelerator Program and air quality warning initiatives, and allocating community works funds for projects in Electoral Area A. Additionally, the Board addressed building bylaws, approved an alternative approval process for park dedication removal and clean-up services, adopted regional growth strategy amendments, and finalized a mortgage renewal for a housing project. Financial requests were also authorized concerning the Building Communities Strong Fund to recover revenue from development cost charge reductions.

The boards for the Metro Vancouver Regional District, Metro Vancouver Housing Corporation, Greater Vancouver Water District, and Greater Vancouver Sewerage and Drainage District are convening for their regular meetings.
