Purchase of Sodium Hypochlorite RFP

Description: Sealed bids will be received by the Contract Specialist on behalf of the Director of Administration, City of Wooster, State of Ohio, at the office of said Director, 538 N. Market Street, P.O. Box 1128, Wooster, OH 44691 until twelve o'clock, noon, Monday, November 23, 2026 for furnishing Sodium Hypochlorite, in accordance with the specifications on file in said office. Each bid must contain the full name of every person or company interested in same, and be accompanied by a bid bond or a certified check in the amount of 10% of the bid price as a guaranty that if the bid is accepted, a contract will be entered into and its performance secured. All interested parties must complete the contact information form through the City's ViewPoint website in order for bids to be considered. Bidders are required to use the forms which will be furnished on application. The right is reserved to reject any and all bids, and/or alternate unit prices. Bids shall be placed into a sealed envelope and addressed to: Amanda McLain, Contract Specialist, 538 N. Market Street, Wooster, Ohio 44691. Specifications (excerpt): The City of Wooster requests bids for approximately 42,700 gallons per year in the contract period of Sodium Hypochlorite for the Water Production Facility. The Sodium Hypochlorite shall have a minimum chlorine content of 12% and meet specification AWWA B300-10 for Hypochlorites. Random testing will be conducted throughout the season. The stated quantity is only an approximate amount and does not guarantee that the full amount will be ordered. The product is to be delivered to the Water Production Facility, 1020 Old Columbus Rd., Wooster, Ohio. Bulk delivery shall be made with a minimum of 2,800 gallons per delivery. Delivery times shall be between 6:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. City intends to award a one-year contract beginning January 1, 2027 and ending December 31, 2027.
