Phragmites Removal, Sand Fill, and Gravel Kayak Launch Install (RFP)

Description: Phragmites Removal & Disposal: 3,088 sf of the project area has phragmites. CBF staff will flag off the phragmites area. The contractor will be responsible for excavating the rhizomes (digging down 6" to one FT) and disposing of all organic matter off-site. Sand Backfill Low & High Marsh: Place 1,302 tons of Vulcan Tri-City Blend sand per permit drawings: All sand placements must be completed when the project footprint is completely exposed (cannot be installed during high tide). Avoid placing sand during king tides or around nor'easters since tides can be abnormally high. Gravel Kayak Launch Install: Install ~500 sf of a gravel kayak launch per permit drawings. Must use #5 gravel - no color specification.
