Outside Legal Services - Supplemental Request (Request For Qualification)

Description: The services are all those customarily provided by outside legal counsel to a governmental entity of a size and scope commensurate with that of the county, and shall include representation, advice and assistance with respect to litigation, transactional and other matters involving the county, including, but not limited to, the following areas of law. (1) Tort Claims defenses – negligence, medical malpractice, defamation, false imprisonment, civil rights, municipal tort claims, workers compensation; (2) Employment discrimination; (3) Property damage; (4) County Lands, Zoning and Planning; (5) Foreclosure; (6) Real Estate purchases, sales and leases, including but not limited to eminent domain and condemnation; (7) Election Law; (8) Essex County Planning Board issues; (9) Correctional Facility issues; (10) Bail Forfeitures; (11) Overpayments; (12) Collections; (13) Civil Service and Employee Disciplinary Matters; (14) PERC Hearings; (15) Personnel Issues; (16) Labor Law and Collective Bargaining; (17) Workers Compensation; (18) Public bidding issues, disputes and litigation; (19) Commitments; (20) OPRA Matters; and (21) Intellectual Property, Software Licensing.
