Description: Ocean County Municipal Sidewalk Construction Grant Program, under which Ocean County may provide competitive grant funding to municipalities for the construction of new public sidewalks located along County roads that improve pedestrian safety, walkability, accessibility, and community connectivity. This program is designed to: Promote pedestrian safety and ADA accessibility along County roadways; Encourage municipal investment in walkable infrastructure; Leverage municipal engineering, permitting, and construction capacity; Ensure fiscal accountability and long-term asset ownership by municipalities; Provide equitable access to funding while protecting County fiscal interests; see attached file.

Work consists of removal and replacement of 4" pcc sidewalk panels with root barrier installation. Perform root pruning where roots interfere with sidewalk alignment. Sawcut at existing transverse joints to ensure clean removal. Restore adjacent landscaping, landscape edges, and park strip areas to pre-construction condition. Adjust and reconstruct sidewalks to meet ADA requirements, including cross-slope and running slope limits (maximum 1.75% cross slope and 4.75% path of travel).
