Newark Wayne Booster Pump Station Upgrade RFP

Description: Work comprises the replacement of four (4) existing pumps and motors located in Building 1 and Building 2 of the Wayne Booster Pump Station, along with associated system upgrades. In addition to pump replacement, the project includes replacement of existing piping and valves; installation of flow-straightening vaned bends on the suction side of pumps in Building 1; electrical upgrades within and outside the buildings; upgrades to instrumentation and control systems for the proposed pumps; architectural improvements to building interiors and exteriors; upgrades to pipe supports and concrete equipment pads; upgrades to heating and ventilation systems; and plumbing improvements, including the installation of new sump pumps. Most of the proposed work will occur within the existing facility buildings. Work outside the buildings includes replacement of the existing walk-in motor control center (MCC) enclosure with a new, code-compliant prefabricated walk-in MCC enclosure, along with extension of the existing concrete pad to accommodate the new enclosure. Additional site and civil work includes clearing vegetation around the facility perimeter fencing and Building 1, as well as around electrical equipment near Building 2; installation of gravel and fabric within the existing electrical equipment area outside Building 2 to inhibit vegetation growth; installation of 2-inch and 4-inch HDPE drain piping from sumps in Buildings 1 and 2 to an on-site sanitary sewer manhole; removal and replacement of the existing hatch on the valve pit located within the facility driveway; rehabilitation of existing driveway pavement; and construction of new driveway extensions at select locations throughout the site.
