Route 66 Pavement Rehabilitation
Cold mill 2" existing AC pavement; repair damaged areas, patch and crack seal; apply tack coat. Construct uniform 1. 5" arhm (type gg-c) surface course; construct 0. 5" asphalt concrete (type C2-PG 64-10) leveling course; localized ac pavement repair at the engineer's direction during construction: remove ac pavement section to a depth of 10" and reconstruct it with 4" ac pavement section consisting of 1. 50" arhm wearing course (arhm type gg-c) and 2. 50" ac leveling course (type b-pg 64-10) with 6" crushed aggregate base and prior to construction of ac pavement section, scarify and recompact the exposed base/subgrade. (location and area to be determined on the field); remove and reinstall type d and type E traffic loops as shown on the plan; connect wires to existing lead-in cables per caltrans std plans es-5a and es-5b and specifications. Adjust water valve slip can to grade. It shall be the contractor responsibility to notify and coordinate the work with the water purveyor and to picked up the replacement slip cans from the said purveyor. Verify actual number and location on the field during construction adjust utility storm drain and/or sewer manhole frame and cover to grade. Remove raised pavement markings and conflicting striping. Install street pavement marking and striping. Provide & maintain portable changeable message signs.
