Description: Installation of a monitoring well and appurtenances. Work includes 20 LF drilling and sampling by hollow-stem auger 18", 20 LF install 14" diameter conductor casing to 20' bgs, 431 LF drilling in basalt by HQ coring, 298 LF drilling in saprolite/basalt by air rotary 12", 321 LF install and seal 8 5/8" diameter monitoring well steel casing, 133 LF drilling and sampling in basalt by air- rotary 8". Klondike Landfill Monitoring Well Installation
Work includes three (3) continuous borings (4x6 sonic) and sampling from 50' bgs to 70' bgs (max 70 ). Boring dia will be 6"; install 2" monitoring wells into each of the three borings; install sand filter pack of 20/40 silica sand to 2-ft above screen. 1' fine 30/65 sand seal (1' thick) should separate the filter pack from the bentonite pellets. 2' to 3' of bentonite pellets; neat cement grout shall be mixed using 6 gallons of water per 94 pound bag of type i/ii portland cement to a density of 15 lbs/gal and introduced to the annular space through a tremie pipe installed just above the well seal material and placed progressively upwards to ground surface.
