The Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) issued a Special Notice seeking industry input to draft and revise MIL-PRF-24623/6A (and MIL-PRF-24623/8) specifications for splice, fusion, fiber optic protectors to encourage a broad vendor base and accommodate various design solutions. Interested parties may request copies of the draft documents by emailing CommandStandards@navy.mil; the notice explicitly states THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION.
