Summary
Work of this project in Springfield, Massachusetts includes, but is not necessarily limited to, Fire Alarm Upgrades (T24A): The scope of this work is upgrading the existing fire alarm system at the MMC. The existing fire alarm system is currently utilizing an EST-3 FACP. As part of this project this panel shall be upgraded to an EST-4 Voice Evac FACP installed within the same backbox. A FireWorks Workstation with a 55” touchscreen display will be added to the security room, and the existing annunciator is to be replaced with new. All existing initiating and signaling devices throughout the building shall be replaced with modernized addressable equivalents. The existing smoke control system is currently monitored and controlled through the Building Management System (BMS). As part of this project, the smoke control system controls shall be transferred from the existing BMS to the Fire Alarm System (FAS) to improve system reliability, supervision, and emergency response functionality.
BMS Upgrades (T26A): The scope of this work is upgrading the Building Management System at the MMC. The work generally includes a new front-end system including but not limited to removal of all existing controllers and equipment associated with the antiquated head-end system, which shall be replaced with a new head-end system
that will be tied into the existing equipment, sensors, etc. The new BMS would serve all equipment across both the Arena and Convention Center portions of the building. This project will include the implementation of various controls-based energy conservation measures (ECMs) concurrent with the BMS replacement. The smoke control
system will be migrated from BMS control to fire alarm control as part of this project.
