Lower Racetrack Creek Restoration Project RFP
The lower racetrack creek restoration project involves riparian livestock fencing, a stockwater system, new irrigation diversion, fish screen, streambank enhancements, and stream channel realignment. The purpose of the lower racetrack creek restoration project is to improve ecological function of racetrack creek and reduce irrigation infrastructure risk to aquatic organisms. Project goals include: improving spawning and rearing habitat for fish, enhancing and expanding riparian and wetland habitats, improving riparian area protection, facilitating fish passage, and eliminating the risk of fish entrainment into irrigation ditches. Racetrack creek, a tributary to the upper clark fork river is near racetrack, montana in the deer lodge valley. The project reach occurs on five private parcels and has been identified by montana fish, wildlife and parks as important spawning and rearing habitat for brown trout.
