GPC - Reed School Preservation RFP
In general, the work consists of: Reed School is a one-room schoolhouse and museum. The schoolhouse was built in 1915 and has been restored to its 1939 appearance. Reed School serves as an example of the more than 6,000 one-room schoolhouses that existed throughout Wisconsin during the early twentieth century. This project constitutes the first significant capital project at Reed School. The scope of work includes comprehensive exterior maintenance and improvements to the building envelope. Work will include repairs to the concrete block brick veneer, concrete sills, and lintels; installation of a new roofing system; and regrading around the building to improve drainage and site conditions. Site improvements will also include installation of a new ground-mounted flagpole and construction of an accessible ramp to enhance site accessibility.
