Provide APS cooling and propulsion fans (OEM).
Description: This is a DARPA Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Direct-to-Phase-II topic under the DoW 2026 STTR Broad Agency Announcement, focused on space technology. It seeks a fuel-flexible spacecraft electric-propulsion system that can efficiently operate on air, water, or water/carbon-dioxide or nitrogen/hydrogen mixtures at greater than 30% electrical efficiency. Applicants must demonstrate prior performance and durability evidence, while the Phase II effort integrates and qualifies the thruster, power-processing, flow-control, and bus-interface systems for later spaceflight transition.

This active Sources Sought notice from NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory seeks responses from small businesses, small-business joint ventures, or small-business-led teams with spacecraft electrical power systems experience. The requested capabilities cover EPS architecture and requirements, power electronics, solar arrays, energy storage, power management and distribution, radiation and environmental analysis, modeling, hardware integration, testing, qualification, and interactions with electric propulsion. Responses are due October 2, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. PDT, and JPL will hold informational webinars September 22–24, 2026.

Seeking information from qualified small businesses with demonstrated experience supporting spacecraft electrical power systems throughout the design, development, analysis, integration, testing, and qualification lifecycle. Relevant capabilities include electrical power systems (EPS), solar arrays, batteries, power electronics and distribution, high-power and high-voltage systems, direct-drive architectures, energy storage, and power management and distribution. Experience with solar array performance and degradation and spacecraft power interactions with electric propulsion systems is particularly relevant.
