Construct a new odor control facility to collect odorous and corrosive gases from the Crosstown Tunnel at a centralized location to treat and discharge to the atmosphere. Work consists of the design of a 38,000±cfm odor control facility to mitigate odors emanating from the Walnut Creek Crosstown Tunnel. Improvements consists of three biotrickling filters, each with a fan and a carbon scrubber unit; all site piping, ductwork, foundations, electrical and controls; an electrical building and all appurtenances. Sitework includes an access driveway, sound wall, water quality pond, fencing, gate, site grading, restoration and all appurtenances. The improvements will include provisions for future expansion of the facility to 50,000±cfm.

The City of Austin (Austin Water Utility) issued an IFB to construct a Crosstown Tunnel Centralized Odor Control Facility to collect and treat odorous and corrosive gases from the Crosstown Tunnel as part of its Capital Improvements Program (Project No. 6943.027). The scope includes site preparation, piping/ductwork, treatment system installation, electrical work, and adherence to ROCIP safety and insurance requirements. A mandatory pre-bid conference is scheduled for 2026-01-22 and the solicitation is estimated at $5M–$15M with a response deadline of 2026-02-19.
