The selected experienced and qualified construction management Consultant(s) will be tasked with providing construction management services for the Sunnyvale East and West Channels Flood Protection Project (SEWCFPP). The Project construction consists of the following: 1) Clearing and grubbing within the Project limits, including the removal and legal disposal of the designated trees, debris, and other miscellaneous items; 2) Demolition, removal, and disposal/recycle of existing rock slope protection, concrete channel improvements, sacked concrete, other structures, concrete features, fences, rubble, and other debris within project limits; 3) Spread footing and Cast-In-Drilled-Hole (CIDH) floodwall construction (CIDH piles are anticipated to be placed in wet conditions and will utilize inspection pipes for acceptance testing); 4) Box culvert construction and box culvert extension and channel transition structures, including partial and full removal of existing RCB structures, and staged construction of triple-cell box culvert including staged demolition of existing East Caribbean Drive Bridges; 5) Headwall construction on existing City and Caltrans Bridges, and existing City owned box culvert structures, including partial and full removal of existing barriers. 6) Trail and pedestrian improvements; 7) Demolition, relocation, and reconstruction of City of Sunnyvale streets, medians, and utilities; 8) Coordination, data collection and monitoring of vibration of adjacent structures during construction; 9) Structural concrete and rebar placement; 10) Structural steel plates, brackets, welds, bolted members, and anchor connections; 11) Earthwork, including excavation, fill placement and levee construction; 12) Inspection and monitoring of aesthetic treatment installation on floodwalls and headwalls; 13) Coordination, monitoring and inspection of floodwall tie-in to existing bridges and floodwalls, including Caltrans, Google, and City of Sunnyvale; 14) Coordination, monitoring and inspection of adjacent City of infrastructure; 15) Coordination, monitoring and inspection of existing utility relocation and protection; 16) Review, inspection and monitoring of Traffic Control Plan prepared by Contractor; 17) Inspection and monitoring of hydroseeding on banks and temporarily disturbed areas and revegetation; 18) Inspection and monitoring of biotechnical plantings, mitigation plantings, in accordance with the Mitigation Monitoring and Reporting Plan, and other plantings during the contractor’s establishment period; 19) Other miscellaneous construction work and items necessary to satisfactorily complete the demolition and construction work; 20) Protection of trees that are not identified to be removed; 21) Compliance with NPDES Construction General Permit, available online at https://www.waterboards.ca.gov/water_issues/programs/stormwater/constpermits.html, and implementation of the approved Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan; 22) Compliance with the Project regulatory permits, copies of which will be provided to Consultant once each is secured, including the California Department of Fish and Wildlife Streambed Alteration Agreement; San Francisco Bay Regional Water Quality Control Board Water Quality Certification; and Santa Clara Valley Habitat Plan compliance (including avoidance measures and BMPs). For Sunnyvale East and West Channels Flood Protection Project, the US Army Corps of Engineers Section 404 Clean Water Act Permit; 23) Compliance with Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) Loan monitoring and inspecting requirements for Sunnyvale East and West Channels Flood Protection Project (SEWCFPP); 24) Compliance with Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) requirements for the project; 25) Replacement, in kind, of any existing landscaping that will be disturbed by construction
