CFTC Sole Source for WMATA Transit
The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) intends to renew its contract with the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority (WMATA) for use of the WMATA SmartBenefits transit system to enroll, withdraw, and change employee transit benefits. The notice says WMATA SmartBenefits provides access to Metrorail and Metrobus across multiple jurisdictions and enables CFTC to manage commuter funding through a single interface, which it says no other source can provide. It is an active presolicitation for a sole-source contract with one base year and four option years, five years total; the source lists responses due Sep 01, 2026 05:00 pm EDT and an inactive date of Sep 16, 2026.
