This system was been chosen by the State a couple of years ago and is pre-equipped on all new buses. Our new buses have this system. The current camera system is very old, outdated and needs to be replaced. To ensure consistency, efficiency and student safety, the District needs to standardize all bus cameras for the entire fleet using the same platform. This will also allow for uniform operation, simplified training requirements, consistent video retrieval, and reduce risk of user error due to multiple systems. Safety Vision is the sole manufacturer and distributor of this platform.

InterTest developed the camera around the Sierra Olympia Viento 10 with a 60 Hz frame rate and long-wave infrared (LWIR) imaging. InterTest ensured that Viento focusing lenses worked with the custom IP-67-rated housing. Additionally, a ruggedized tablet device was chosen for viewing the live camera footage while simultaneously powering the camera The cable enabled the camera to draw enough power from the tablet, so no auxiliary power source was needed.
