Atomically Precise Molecules (APM)

Description: DARPA is soliciting proposals for new synthesis techniques for polymeric and nonlinear optical materials that could achieve revolutionary advances and scale for application integration. The research should culminate in a prototype demonstration of a nonlinear optical material integrated into a functional, government-provided electro-optic modulator. Proposals focused solely on inorganic materials without a polymeric component, or on incremental improvements to existing materials, are excluded.
