ASL Interpreter Support RFP

Description: Requires the services of certified American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters of proprietary expertise to provide highly specialized services for a CNIC Deaf Professional (DP) employee. The ASL interpreters are a dynamic and active participant in the DP's environment, and their actions influence communication outcomes and the DP's work performance. Specialized ASL interpreting under this contract is highly technical in nature; it includes working with the DP in an elevated status, and entails daily interactions with hearing colleagues. The ASL interpreter has a thorough understanding of the DP's role, the roles of others in the workplace and those who have a relationship with the workplace (contractors, customers, etc), the work culture, and the jargon used. The DP and ASL interpreters work together as a micro-team within the larger macro-team of the DP's work environment. See attached file.
