It is the intent of the City of Philadelphia to purchase Protective Hoods for the City of Philadelphia's Fire Department in accordance with Section 2 of this Invitation and Bid. All quotes must be submitted through PHLContracts no later than 10:30 AM on the date that the related bid opens. Quotes will not be accepted after the bid opening. Procure fire and smoke protection hoods from a reputable manufacturer or seller of safety hoods. Hoods mut be distortion-free, anti-fog, clear material construction for a 360-degree, unobstructed field of view, Twin filters with pleated HEPA that can remove 99.97% of sub-micron particles and provide at least15 minutes of breathable air. Hood musst be certified to ASTM E2952 standard for air-purifying respiratory protective smoke. A manufacturer warranty is required for the useful life of the hood to be no less than 5 years from the date of manufacture. The supplier must provide documentation / reporting for traceability of the hoods.
