The Department of Energy, through Triad National Security, LLC (operator of Los Alamos National Laboratory), has issued a Special Notice announcing a technology licensing opportunity for an Electrically Pumped Nanocrystal Laser Diode. The invention is a solution-processed laser technology that uses engineered colloidal nanocrystals (quantum dots) to achieve electrically driven laser emission at room temperature, overcoming historical challenges with Auger recombination, heat, and optical losses. Interested companies can pursue exclusive or non-exclusive licensing agreements with LANL, and inquiries should be directed to the Feynman Center for Innovation at licensing@lanl.gov.
