Summary
Toronto Public Library has issued a Request for Proposals (191-26-TPL-RFP) to engage a qualified Public Art Consultant to steward the commissioning of a landmark Canadian-made public artwork for the TPL Centre for Democracy at the Toronto Reference Library. The selected consultant will run a juried artist-selection process in close coordination with TPL, the project architect (selected under companion RFP 162-26-TPL-RFP), and the City of Toronto's Public Art Office (Economic Development & Culture Division) so the artwork aligns with the library's values and can be incorporated into the construction project. The artwork is funded with Section 37 Community Benefits funds that City of Toronto Councillor Dianne Saxe secured for the Centre for Democracy initiative.
